NH Hockey Names New 2018-2019 Varsity Coach

Kevin Pawlos North Hills Hockey Varsity Coach

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Kevin began playing hockey at the age of 5. Kevin began AAA Tier 1 travel hockey at age 10. He finished the last four years of his amateur playing career at the Pittsburgh Predators organization and qualified for the USA Hockey National Championships one time. While playing for the Predators he also attended and played for the Bishop Canevin High School Varsity Team. While at Bishop Canevin, Kevin was team captain for two seasons and voted a PIHL All-Star twice, Team Defensive MVP for two seasons, Tom Henderson Scholarship Award recipient given to a BC senior that illustrates a hard work ethic, commitment to academia and hockey, as well as commitment to community service.  Kevin was also the 2006 Bob Johnson Memorial Scholarship awarded by the Pittsburgh Penguins. After high school, Kevin attended Youngstown State University in Ohio and majored in Business Management. Kevin was selected as an assistant captain all four years, was voted to the All-Conference team twice, and is the University's all-time points leader by a defenseman. 

After college, Kevin returned to the Pittsburgh area and served as an Assistant Coach for the North Hills Middle School team for two seasons. He then transitioned to an Assistant Coach for the Mars JV team for two seasons. Most recently Kevin was the Head Coach of the Bishop Canevin Varsity team for the past three seasons. In his first season as head coach, Kevin helped lead the Bishop Canevin team to its PIHL record-tying 8th Class AA Penguins Cup Title and was PA Class AA State Runner-Up.

Kevin currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA. He currently is the Senior Manager of the Operating Budget for the City of Pittsburgh. He resides in Westwood, PA and will be marrying his fiance, Rebecca, this upcoming June.
